Kashyap is going where no Bollywood has ever gone before

Director Anurag Kashyap’s ambitious film ‘No Smoking’, starring John Abraham and Ayesha Takia, will now be shot in Siberia. The shoot is scheduled to begin on January 17.

Anurag, who’s always believed in experimenting, is obviously thrilled with his choice of location.

“We are shooting in complete snow, in a faraway mountain. It is at the end of Kazakistan, the farthest point a man can go up to. We are shooting with John and 30 Russian soldiers from the Red Army.”

The scene is being shot in a specially built house there.

While he is not ready to explain the need to shoot in such a bitingly cold place, he says,

“It is the first scene of the film and it is a nightmarish experience that we are trying to capture. Besides, if I can shoot in the middle of Dharavi (‘Black Friday’), why can’t I shoot in Siberia?”
