Early 1999, IIT-Roorkee,

I was lying down after a night out and heavy beer ..suddenly Ankur(aka bhau) came and said ”Bhiku .. wo item bahut bhari hai baap ..usko to idhar ..aaj’ich tapkane ka hai..”

Ankur has got his new name aka Bhau ..look and most of his daily lines just because of satya…we were completely crazy about the movie ad watched thrice on a single day.. bought up a sound track of satya..got almost every dialogue .. used to talk only in the language of satya..we felt there is really something larger than life like chars..

All the lines were so smooth n awesome man..”Maar khan ke baad samjh main aata kya….sala amitabh bachaa..ye picture bahut dekhta hai…Mumbai ka king kaun bhiku mahatre…”..suddenly I was more eager to know…who the hell has written all this…it s so gr8 dude…thn I got to know this is Anurag kashyap AK..the story screenplay writer of satya…the man almost came above all of my expectations once I watched his other work like Kaun ..shool..

I think I am very small to talk about this great writer director and actor (acted in "The Maharaja's Daughter" (1994) (mini) TV Series) and can’t do justice while praising and explaining his work. So just trying to write a bit about his Filmi Yatra…I never met this man .wt ever I know its all the so called Net-Network/Googling/PFC…

He has written and helped out in several movies for RGV Factory including gr8 satya…apart from that Yuva, water and many more….made waves.

He ventured into direction with Pannch, Black Friday and Gullal.. but none of them got released. Censor board refused to clear first two….and Gullal went out of money…and somehow the director got frustrated which truly seems up into his interviews…his blogs... but may be that’s the true intensity which shapes up his dark and intense works very well…what the hell ..Probably I would kill the entire world …but see this brave man he’s all geared up for his next mega venture No smoking with John Abrm.

AK spent his early childhood in Banaras UP. He had a big joint family and unfortunately had to face some dark truths of life very early in his life when he was strictly harassed by one of his relative and neighbour. Later he joined Scindia School in Gwalior but harrasement and abusing took its roll even there also and he became too erratic and intense. These were the days when a writer form him came out and started flowing around the outside darkness.

At some point AK wanted to be a scientist and did his graduation in zoology from Delhi university. He shared the college and Hockey team with one of today’s big superstar.

Just like other young guns he tried his hands in every shit while college includig drugs and but still managed to be I touch with his prime love and got involved with a Delhi street theatre group called Jana Natya Manch around 1993.

It changed his completely and cinema became his ultimate destination… cocoon …packed his bags and came to Mumbai when he was after two months with only 6000 in his pocket…the guy spent eight to nine months on streets as usual struggling for damn work…Initially he knew only one place in Mumbai – The Prithvi theatre.most of his time was revolving around street, sleeping on beaches, St Xavier's [colleg] boys hostel… space below the water tank in the Four Bungalows complex in Andheri ..hanging around outside Prithvi Theatre for work and a night out of the rain..

Slowly but steadily AK started identifying his bits and pieces and wrote a play and people began recognizing him. Theater guns like Makarand Deshpande, Mahendra Joshi, Shivam Nair, Sudhir Mishra, Amol Gupte infused hope and devotion into him…..and got some started work at Prithvi. His first drama was with Mahendra Joshi but it never got completed because Mahendra passed away. His next destination was Makarand Deshpande's group Samrangan….He wrote an eight-page drama called Mein, which went to college festivals and did gr8.

Once in between AK met Govind Nihalani and he gave him few books to adapt as theater plays for TV series. Those books confused him so much that he started thinking even like he’s ot good enough for writing…so on anurag was in hibernation for almost an year, and kept only reading.

Then came Shivam Nair and AK wrote a short television serial called Auto Narayan and dialogues for Trikaal. That was the time when RGV was looking for some writers for his dream underworld flick Satya….Manoj Bajpai showed AK’s serial Auto Narayan to Ram Gopal Varma and damn…..he liked it. So finally AK got …Satya…and life started rocking for some time…..but yeah a more frustration was always there to come……….to be continued….

I would try to come up with his next seven years in industry… full of his pain and frustration … ..Over the years people started referring him ‘jinxed, an a** for having a big mouth as he always speaks up his mind.., a talent who makes arty films, which in any case no one would see, so it’s a good thing his films haven’t released!’ ….damn…This guy got so much of pain just beacuase he could not get his flicks released… The censor board had refused a certificate to the his first movie Pannch(who ever saw it…said its made only to rock..) grounds of glorifying violenceand excessive use of drugs; not carrying a social message. ………………..DAMN HOW MANY movies has got a social massage.. and who the hell is seeing for that…
